Terms of Sale
Last updated: August 2022 (Global-e Version: 7.1)
Introduction and Scope
In these Terms of Sale, references to “Global-e,” “we,” “our,” or “us” mean the applicable Global-e contracting entity identified in the final paragraph of these Terms.
Global-e acts as the sales facilitation and fulfilment partner for KARL LAGERFELD International B.V. (“KARL LAGERFELD”), which operates this e-commerce website (the “Store”). The products and services made available for purchase through the checkout are referred to as the “Products.”
KARL LAGERFELD has appointed Global-e to act as the merchant of record, operating in Global-e’s own name and on behalf of KARL LAGERFELD.
These Terms govern your legal relationship with us in relation to:
-
browsing the Store,
-
using the checkout,
-
placing orders, and
-
purchasing Products.
By placing an order for one or more Products (each an “Order”) through the checkout, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms of Sale and the Privacy Policy (available at checkout) in full (together, the “Terms”).
If you do not agree, you must not complete your purchase.
Eligibility and Consumer Use
Orders placed through the checkout are strictly limited to consumers purchasing Products for personal, non-commercial use only.
By placing an Order, you represent and warrant that:
-
the Products are purchased solely for your own personal use; and
-
the Order is not placed for resale, commercial activity, or business purposes.
You also confirm that you are legally capable—in terms of age and mental capacity—of entering into binding contracts under the laws of your country of residence.
You are advised to print or save these Terms for future reference, as we do not guarantee they will remain accessible online.
These Terms are entered into and governed in the English language. Any translations provided are for convenience only and have no legal effect.
1. Browsing, Checkout, and Order Acceptance
Orders are submitted by clicking the “Pay and Place Order” button (or similar). The Product details, pricing, Delivery Costs, and any applicable Import Charges shown at checkout are those applicable at the time the Order is placed.
You are responsible for reviewing your Order carefully and correcting any errors before submission.
Product Representation
Product images are for illustrative purposes only. Minor variations in color, texture, or finish may occur. You should rely on the written product descriptions when placing an Order.
Where dimensions are provided, slight variations may occur. You are responsible for ensuring the Product dimensions and delivery access are suitable for your needs before ordering.
Order Confirmation
Placing an Order constitutes an offer to purchase, not acceptance.
-
You will receive an Order Acknowledgement email, confirming receipt of your Order.
-
This acknowledgement does not mean your Order has been accepted.
-
A binding contract is formed only once you receive a separate Order Confirmation email explicitly confirming acceptance.
Order Refusal or Cancellation
We reserve the right to decline or cancel Orders (in whole or in part), including but not limited to cases involving:
-
payment verification failure,
-
product unavailability,
-
suspected fraud,
-
regulatory screening failures,
-
abnormal ordering behavior,
-
pricing or listing errors, or
-
Orders not placed by consumers.
If payment has already been processed, any cancelled Order will be refunded in accordance with these Terms.
Orders may also be cancelled after confirmation if a genuine error occurred (for example, an obvious pricing mistake). In such cases, the Order will be cancelled and any amounts paid will be refunded. We are not obligated to honor Orders affected by such errors.
Quantity limits may apply and Orders exceeding such limits may be refused without notice.
Payments and Charging
If your payment method supports pre-authorization, funds will be authorized at checkout and charged only after Order Confirmation.
If pre-authorization is not supported, payment may be charged immediately upon Order placement.
For certain payment methods (including PayPal, where available), full payment may be captured immediately. This does not affect your statutory or contractual rights.
Orders may be shipped in multiple parts; however, the full Order amount may still be charged upfront.
2. Pricing and Exchange Rates
Prices are displayed in your local currency and may include:
-
Product price,
-
applicable taxes (e.g., VAT, GST),
-
Delivery Costs, and
-
Import Charges (if eligible for pre-payment).
Some prices may include Delivery Costs and/or Import Charges. Such offers are clearly indicated at checkout and may change without notice.
Prices may fluctuate due to exchange rates. The price charged is the price shown at the time of Order placement.
Pricing Errors
If an obvious pricing or listing error occurs, we reserve the right to cancel the Order—even after confirmation and payment. You will be notified and refunded in full using the original payment method.
3. Taxes and Import Charges
Where available, you may choose to pre-pay Import Charges at checkout. Eligibility varies by destination and Product.
By accepting these Terms, you authorize Global-e and its appointed customs brokers or fiscal representatives to act on your behalf to:
-
interact with customs authorities,
-
submit documentation,
-
pay Import Charges, and
-
facilitate returns (where applicable).
If Import Charges Are Not Pre-Paid
If Import Charges are not paid at checkout:
-
displayed estimates may differ from actual charges assessed by authorities; and
-
you are solely responsible for paying all Import Charges directly.
Failure to pay Import Charges may result in:
-
deductions from refunds,
-
non-reimbursement of Delivery Costs, and
-
additional charges incurred by us or third parties.
You are solely responsible for claiming any Import Charge refunds from authorities where eligible.
Special provisions apply to Canadian customers, including authorization for customs clearance through Global-e’s affiliated entities.
4. Title, Risk, and Importer of Record
Ownership of the Product transfers to you before import, provided full payment has been made or can be completed.
Risk of loss or damage transfers upon delivery to the specified address (or port of entry where Import Charges were not pre-paid).
You are deemed the Importer of Record and are responsible for ensuring that Products comply with all import laws, regulations, standards, and certification requirements of the destination country.
Products may:
-
lack local language documentation,
-
differ from local standards,
-
require adapters or additional equipment, or
-
not be eligible for return due to regulatory differences.
No liability is assumed for issues arising from importing Products that do not meet local standards.
5. Fulfilment, Handling, and Delivery of Orders
Your Order may be fulfilled and delivered by third-party service providers appointed by us or by KARL LAGERFELD (each, a “Fulfilment Provider”).
Delivery Availability
Certain Products may not be eligible for delivery to specific destinations due to product restrictions or local regulations. Where applicable, such limitations will be displayed on the Store or during checkout, and you will not be able to complete your Order if delivery is unavailable to your address.
We reserve the right, at any time, to suspend or cancel delivery of any Product that cannot be legally delivered.
Delivery Completion
Delivery is considered complete once the Product is delivered to the address specified in your Order. If Import Charges were not pre-paid, delivery may be deemed complete upon arrival at the port of entry into the destination country.
Orders may be delivered in multiple shipments, and different items may arrive on different dates.
Delivery Timeframes
Unless otherwise stated and subject to applicable law:
-
All delivery dates shown on the Store or checkout are estimates only.
-
Your Order will be delivered within the timeframe displayed at checkout, based on the selected delivery method (if applicable), or
-
If no timeframe is stated, delivery will occur within 30 days of Order Confirmation, unless exceptional circumstances apply (such as pre-orders).
Delivery times depend on your location and delivery method. Exact delivery dates and times cannot be guaranteed.
Delays and Liability
Global-e and KARL LAGERFELD are not liable for delays caused by circumstances beyond reasonable control, including but not limited to:
-
customs clearance procedures,
-
government actions or lockdowns,
-
carrier disruptions, or
-
delays caused by your actions or omissions.
If delivery is attempted unsuccessfully, it is your responsibility to contact the carrier using the details provided to arrange re-delivery.
6. Payment and Payment Methods
You may only use the payment methods displayed and available at checkout. Availability depends on your location and the offerings of KARL LAGERFELD.
Your transaction may appear on your statement as:
Global-e // KARL LAGERFELD
Payment Processing
By placing an Order, you acknowledge and agree that:
-
Global-e will process your payment through third-party payment processors using your selected payment method.
-
You will provide accurate, complete, and current payment and personal information.
-
Payment processing may be handled by Global-e or its affiliated entities, depending on your location.
-
Payment made to a Global-e affiliated entity constitutes valid payment to us and discharges your payment obligation.
-
Your bank, card issuer, or payment provider may charge additional fees (such as foreign transaction or cross-border fees), which are outside Global-e’s control and responsibility.
Global-e’s sole obligation is to charge the amount displayed at checkout in your local currency.
Payment Security
Global-e takes reasonable measures to secure payment data. However, except in cases of material negligence, Global-e is not liable for losses arising from unauthorized third-party access.
Klarna Invoice Payments
In certain jurisdictions, payment by invoice via Klarna may be available. Klarna determines eligibility at its sole discretion. Klarna’s own terms and privacy policy apply, and Global-e assumes no responsibility for Klarna’s services or data processing.
Brazil Orders
For customers ordering from Brazil (where available), payments are processed as international transactions through authorized local providers. By completing the purchase, you accept the applicable terms and conditions of those providers.
Cash on Delivery (COD)
If COD is available:
-
Maximum payable amounts may be limited by law, carrier policies, or KARL LAGERFELD policies.
-
Products will be released only after full payment and signature upon delivery.
-
Refunds for COD orders will be issued via bank transfer or PayPal—not cash.
7. Returns Policy (All Customers)
This Returns Policy applies to all customers except for faulty Products and Products excluded under Section 9 (“Limitations on Returns, Withdrawal and Cancellation Rights”). Please review KARL LAGERFELD’s full Returns Policy on the Store for additional exclusions.
This policy does not affect statutory cancellation or withdrawal rights available to EEA or UK consumers under applicable law.
Return Timeframe
Unless otherwise stated or required by law, return requests must be submitted within 30 days from the Order date.
How to Return a Product
To initiate a return:
-
Submit a clear return request via the returns portal, providing:
-
your Order number,
-
email address used for purchase,
-
items and quantities to be returned.
-
-
If no returns portal is available, contact KARL LAGERFELD customer support.
-
You will receive a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and, where applicable, a return label.
-
Return the items within 14 days of submitting your return request, following the provided instructions and including the RMA number.
Return Conditions
Returned items must:
-
be unused and in perfect condition,
-
include all original tags, packaging, accessories, and documentation.
All returns are subject to quality inspection. Returns that fail inspection may be refused or subject to value deductions.
Refunds
Once the return is received and approved:
-
you will be refunded the price actually paid for the returned Product;
-
applicable fees may also be refunded in accordance with these Terms and KARL LAGERFELD’s Policy.
Delivery Costs may be refunded only where required by law or in cases of defective Products. Return shipping and clearance costs are generally non-refundable unless otherwise stated.
Import Charges are generally non-refundable.
Refunds are issued using the original payment method, except for COD orders, which will be refunded via bank transfer or PayPal.
Risk and Title of Returned Items
Responsibility for returned Products remains with you until they are received at the returns facility. You are advised to use tracked and insured shipping.
8. Consumer Withdrawal Rights – European Economic Area (EEA Only)
If you are a Consumer residing in a member state of the European Union, Iceland, Liechtenstein, or Norway (the “EEA”), you are entitled to a statutory 14-day cooling-off period during which you may withdraw from your Order. This right exists independently of, and is not affected by, any separate returns policy set out in these Terms.
Withdrawal Period
The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day you, or a third party designated by you (other than the carrier), receive the Product.
How to Exercise Your Right of Withdrawal
To withdraw from an Order:

You must notify us of your decision to withdraw within 14 days of delivery (not within 30 days from the Order date).

-
the returns portal available on the Store or via the Online Support link included in your Order Confirmation; or
-
by contacting KARL LAGERFELD customer support.

You may also use the model withdrawal/cancellation form attached to these Terms (available [here]), but use of this form is optional.
Return Conditions
Returned Products must comply with the conditions set out in the Returns Policy, with the following clarification:
-
You may handle the Product only to the extent necessary to establish its nature, characteristics, and functioning, as you would in a physical retail store.
-
Any handling beyond this may result in a deduction from your refund to reflect the resulting loss in value.
Refunds
If you validly withdraw from your Order:
-
You will be refunded the price paid for the Product, including standard outbound Delivery Costs.
-
Supplementary delivery costs arising from your choice of a delivery method more expensive than the standard option will not be refunded.
Refunds will be made no later than:
-
14 days after we receive the returned Product; or
-
14 days after you provide proof of return, whichever occurs first; or
-
if no Product was supplied, 14 days after you notify us of your withdrawal.
9. Consumer Cancellation Rights – United Kingdom (UK Only)
If you are a Consumer residing in the United Kingdom, you have a statutory 14-day cooling-off right to cancel your Order. This right exists separately from, and is not affected by, any returns policy set out in these Terms.
Cancellation Period
The cancellation period expires 14 days after the day you, or a person nominated by you, receive the Product.
How to Exercise Your Right to Cancel
To cancel an Order:
-
You must notify us of your decision within 14 days of delivery (not within 30 days from the Order date).
-
Notification must be submitted via:
-
the returns portal available on the Store or via the Online Support link in your Order Confirmation; or
-
KARL LAGERFELD customer support.
-
You may also use the model withdrawal/cancellation form attached to these Terms (available [here]), but its use is not mandatory.
Return Conditions
Returned Products must meet the same conditions as described in the Returns Policy, subject to the following:
-
You may only use the Product to the extent necessary to inspect its nature, characteristics, and functioning, as would be permitted in a physical store.
-
Any excess handling may result in a deduction from the refund for loss of value.
Refunds
Upon valid cancellation:
-
You will be refunded the Product price and standard Delivery Costs.
-
Additional delivery charges for non-standard delivery options will not be refunded.
Refunds will be issued no later than:
-
14 days after receipt of the returned Product; or
-
14 days after receipt of evidence that the Product has been returned, if earlier; or
-
14 days after notification of cancellation, if no Product was supplied.
10. Limitations on Returns, Withdrawal, and Cancellation Rights
To the fullest extent permitted by law, certain Products are not eligible for return, withdrawal, or cancellation, including but not limited to:
-
fragrances;
-
sealed goods (such as DVDs or audio devices) once unsealed;
-
goods liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly;
-
collectibles and mystery boxes;
-
swimwear or other hygiene-sensitive items once unsealed;
-
Products made to your specifications or clearly personalized.
Personalized Products may only be returned in the event of a manufacturing defect or product fault. We reserve the right to refuse personalization services at our discretion. In cases of misuse of personalization services, Orders may be cancelled and refunded or dispatched without personalization.
Only the original purchaser is entitled to cancellation, withdrawal, return, or refund rights. Gift recipients are not entitled to refunds. If you received an item as a gift and wish to return it, please contact KARL LAGERFELD customer support to discuss available options.
Nothing in this section limits or excludes mandatory consumer guarantees or statutory rights that cannot be waived under applicable law.
11. Limited Warranty and Returns for Faulty Products

Where applicable, consumers may have statutory rights under national laws implementing EU Directive 2019/771 or equivalent legislation. These rights remain unaffected by any limited warranty offered.

Global-e and KARL LAGERFELD shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, whether arising in contract, tort (including negligence), or otherwise, and whether arising directly or indirectly in connection with these Terms.

Any liability, if it exists, shall be limited to the purchase price of the relevant Product.
